A Five Senses Review: Adega Wine Cellars and Cafe

Just beyond the hustle and bustle of Ellsworth Drive in Downtown Silver Spring, lies Adega Wine Cellars and Café serving up an extensive wine selection as well as a hearty offering of generous salads, savory pastas, and mouth watering sandwiches.

Sights:
Half wine shop, half café. Stepping into Ageda you instantly know these people are serious about their wine. To the left is a selection sure to impress any sommelier. To the right, the space is filled with light wood café tables in a variety of heights, shapes, and sizes. Good food and wine draws a diverse crowd sprinkled throughout the café ranging from young families to elderly couples. Some click away on laptops while others chat over tall glasses of wine.

Sounds:
The sound of an industrial grill putting in work. A mixture of top 40 and old favorites blend gently into the background. Every now and then an order being called out breaks through the low chatter.

Smells: Baking flatbread pizzas and grilled veggies

Tastes:
Crisp sweet potato fries that are just the right amount of savory and sweet and a Jerk Chicken Salad platter that was beyond fresh. The chicken was unbelievable! Tender and juicy with an herb covered skin. All complemented by a bottle of Pinot Grigio.

Feel:
I felt so at home I didn’t want to head back into the cold. This is the kind of place where you want to bring all your friends and just hang out for hours ordering bottles of wine and flat bread pizzas. Warm and welcoming with fantastic food, wine, and service minus the pretension of a gourmet restaurant.

Stop by
Adega to check out Monday Night wine deals and their Saturday and Sunday Night Wine & Dine Special which includes 2 entrees, 1 appetizer, and a bottle of Adega selected wine for only $35 when you dine in.
