If you’ve never been to Mrs. K’s you’ve been missing out on a really great experience. It’s like stepping back in time. Built in the early 1900’s, this quaint little Tudor home was an actual toll house where, in order to pass along what is now Colesville Rd. in route to DC, people had to pay two cents. The home served as living quarters for the keeper and his family. The home was later converted into a restaurant in 1930 still maintaining much of the historic accuracy of the building and its grounds.
I’ve never hosted an event there, but I have had the pleasure of seeing the space in action while having dinner one night. There was a wedding reception taking place out in the garden and it was absolutely beautiful. Mrs. K’s is the prefect space for small to mid-size bridal showers, weddings, and other special celebrations. The atmosphere is enchanting and the food is fantastic.
