Over 30 Area Restaurants Expected to Provide Lunch to Neighbors and Businesses to Celebrate Eleven Years of Community Support with Proceeds Benefiting the Capital Area Food Bank

Event Details:
Verizon Center's "Taste of Eleven" luncheon, hosted by Wizards Care, is the second annual luncheon for the arena and will take place on Wednesday, May 20 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Last year's inaugural luncheon raised $15,000 for local charities within the first 40 minutes. Due to the overwhelming success, the luncheon is returning this year with more restaurants, more space and more opportunities to thank the community for their support while benefiting a good cause. Proceeds from the luncheon will benefit the Capital Area Food Bank and will contribute to Abe and Irene Pollin's commitment to providing over one million meals to the Capital Area Food Bank this year. Tickets to the "Taste of Eleven" luncheon are $11 and will be available for sale on Wednesday, May 20 at Verizon Center.

"The community support for last year's luncheon was overwhelming," said Chairman and Owner of Verizon Center and the Washington Wizards Abe Pollin. "We wanted to expand upon that success and not only continue to show our thanks to the community for their support, but also take the opportunity to raise additional money for the Capital Area Food Bank."
The "Taste of Eleven" luncheon will feature over 30 restaurants each featuring a signature lunch item. Each ticket to the luncheon will allow for up to six lunch items per person. Attendees can enter through the main entrance on F Street NW at Verizon Center and then walk the entire concourse to select their food items. Limited seating will be made available on the main concourse and in the lower bowl of the arena. Cash and credit cards will be accepted to purchase tickets on the day of the luncheon.

Local restaurants that will be participating in this year's luncheon to date include the following: Aramark, Asia Nine Bar and Lounge, Brasserie Beck, Burma, Cafe Atlantico, Chipotle, Clyde's, Coca-Cola, D'Acqua, District Chophouse, Dunkin' Donuts, ESPN Zone, Fado, Gifford's Ice Cream, Hard Rock Café, Indebleu, Jaleo, La Tasca, Legal Sea Foods Restaurant, Levy Restaurants, Mamma Lucia, Matchbox Vintage Pizza Bistro, McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant, McDonald's, Mehak, Morton's Steakhouse, Nandos, Noah's Pretzels, Oyamel, Penn Quarter Sports Tavern, Rosa Mexicano, the Greene Turtle Sports Bar and Grille, The Source, Tony Cheng's Seafood Restaurant and Mongolian BBQ, Zaytinya, Zengo and Zola.
