Fun at the Legg Mason Classic

The Legg Mason Tennis Classic was quite an experience. I'm a newbie to the world of tennis so I didn't know what to expect. I had a wonderful time learning about the game as I attended my first match last week. The William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center in Rock Creek Park was a fantastic venue. They had shuttles running from the metro and there was plenty of staff on hand to make sure everyone got to where they needed to be.

It was pretty hot out, but luckily they were handing out these nifty visors in the most flattering shade of yellow. As you can see, the heat and humidity was doing nothing for my hair.

After the match, we headed over to an onsite event hosted by Design Cuisine Caterers called King of the Kitchen. The event featured two local chefs, Chef Todd Gray of Equinox Restaurant and Chef Kaz Okochi of Kaz Sushi Bistro Masa 14, battling it out for the the love of three celebrity judges. each chef was given the same ingredients to make 3 dishes.
Design Cuisine created a tented oasis in the middle of Rock Creek Park complete with ac, lighting, sleek white and orange decor, and a gourmet double kitchen, of course! The drinks were flowing and guests of the event had the chance to sample the chef's creations throughout the night.

In the end, the King of the Kitchen competition ended in a tie. They both created outstanding dishes. Too bad we couldn't go into some sort of overtime...a tie breaker dessert, maybe?

If you missed this year's Legg Mason Classic, you must make it out next year! I'll be there...with a visor on!

Later,
Guru
