Obama takes the stage tonight. Where will you be watching?

My inbox this morning was crammed full with DNC Convention news. After weeding through the recaps and yet another message from Joe Biden, I came upon a list of venues hosting viewing parties for Obama's speech tonight. I thought I'd share. So, here you go! Courtesy of the Washingtonian's After Hours Blog:

AFI Silver TheatreJoin the Montgomery County Young Democrats as they sponsor a community-wide Convention Watching Party from 8 to 11. Coverage will be shown on the big screen while snacks, dessert, wine, and beer are served. Tickets are $25. For more information or to buy a ticket in advance, go to

Bohemian CavernsWatch Obama’s speech on flat-screen TVs and a projection screen. There will be live music before and after his address as well as food service from the menu and a cash bar. A $15 donation is requested to support the Obama Unity Slate. Hosted by DC for Obama; 7 PM.

Busboys and PoetsThe Langston Room, which holds about 75 people, will be tuned in to the convention all day and night Thursday.

Stetson’s Famous Bar and GrillSpecials include an extended happy hour upstairs from 4:30 to 9 and half-price turkey burgers. Coverage will be shown with sound both upstairs and down. If you lose interest in the convention, pool tables, darts and foosball are also available.

Union PubJust a few blocks from the Capitol, Union Pub will air the convention with Surround Sound while serving Thrifty Thursday specials including $10 house pitchers, $14 frozen-margarita pitchers, and $5 specialty cocktails.

Uno Chicago GrillHosted by Diversity 4 Obama, this party is intended as a family-oriented event. A life-size Obama cutout will be available for photo ops, the convention will be shown on flat-screen TVs, and a percentage of proceeds from the night goes to Diversity 4 Obama; 8 PM.

Ventnor Sports CafeForget about sports this Thursday—the convention will fill the screens on the second floor with progressive beer specials beginning at 50 cents at 5 PM and increase hourly.

The Washingtonian After Hours blog is worth reading if you're looking for things to do around DC. They feature a wide range of events to meet an even wider range of interests.

So...there's no need to watch history in the making all by your lonesome tonight!
