Sabroso Grill of Silver Spring

Sabroso Grill has been open in downtown Silver Spring for about a month. Right across from the AFI theater and next door to the future home of the Filmore, Sabroso is in prime location to pick up those seeking a fun night out and a reasonably priced meal. I stopped by last weekend and I couldn't say there was anything extraordinary about the place. I had the quarter chicken platter with rice and beans. The food was good. It was exactly what I expected, nothing more nothing less. As far as the venue- there were a few art pieces adorning the walls, seating for about 30 or so, and the "store front" setup typical of new Downtown Silver Spring restaurants. The place is definitely worth trying if you're a fan of places like El Polo Loco. It's pretty good food for an unbelievable price. I'm talking about 5 bucks for a full meal! Plus, it has that mom and pop feel that makes you want to root for them to succeed against the big bad chain stores infiltrating the rest of Silver Spring. So, go and have some chicken. It won't change your life and it probably won't become your favorite restaurant, but you won't regret making the trip.
